Galilee is the northern region of Israel. It is generally mountainous and is divided geographically into Upper Galilee in the north and Lower Galilee in the south. The mountains are covered with green bushes and water falls. There are also national parks, nature reserves, and mineral baths in this area.
The Sea of Galilee is an area closely associated with the life and times of Jesus making it a religious centre for both Christians and Jews - it has many religious shrines and historical sites of interest.
The city of Tiberias was built in honour of the Roman Emperor after which it was named and has played an integral role in the history of the Jews. It served as an important spiritual centre and was the site of the compilation of the Talmud. The early pioneers established some of Israel’s first kibbutzim (collective farms) around Tiberias.
Today it is a popular vacation spot offering year-round water activities, hot springs, health resorts and magnificent national parks.
Tourism in the Golan Heights
Large canyons, waterfalls, and riverbeds flowing with water characterize the central Golan. At the foot of the Golan, the Jordan River extricates itself from a raging bottleneck and flows more soberly through the Jordan River Park (Park Hayarden).
The Southern Golan enjoys a wonderful advantage: panoramic views of the Sea of Galilee, In winter and spring' when everything is green and blooming, it's a pleasure to roam its beautiful riverbeds, and in summer, you can take a refreshing dip in Israel's only genuine lake.
Your Desire is HIS Desire… Come to Israel!
This was the most awesome experience I have ever had; going to Israel with Ron and Alyianna was the best choice we made.
